Convergence Inefficiency occurs when nerves within the eye that control the muscles do not function properly. It affects how the eyes work together to process nearby objects, resulting in double or blurry vision. The visual impairment usually starts in childhood, but may also be the effect of certain head traumas. Convergence Inefficiency can be treated through eye exercises, fixating a prism on glasses, or in rare cases, surgery to strengthen eye muscles.
