Glaucoma is a visual impairment that involves high eye pressure and damage to the optic nerve. This deterioration is more common in people who are sixty or older. It tends to slowly affect peripheral vision and can be hard to notice at first. Different eye drops can be prescribed to help lower eye pressure and prevent further damage. Glaucoma can also sometimes be treated with laser treatments or surgery.
