For the 100th Anniversary of the Braille Institute, Atkinson Hyperlegible typeface was designed for easier reading for those with visual impairments. It combines elements of Helvetica and Frutiger (a font often used for public transportation areas). The developers increased apertures (the gaps in enclosed letters) and negative space within circular letters. The typeface can be accessed through Google Fonts or Google Docs. You may also download it for free to use otherwise.
