August 12, 2022:  Logo Explanation- Support Cane

Collapsible Support Canes

So far, we have explained the use of a brailler (in the top left of our logo) and a refreshable braille display (at the bottom right).  A Support cane, in the top right, is used for guidance in mobility, as well as a sign for others to be mindful that a person who is blind or visually impaired is walking by.  Canes are usually white with a red piece near the bottom.  Most canes range from $30-50.  They are made in different lengths to account for the user’s height.  Canes can also be used with a variety of tips depending on the terrain and user’s preference.  Some tips roll along with the movement of the cane while others remain stationary.  To learn more or purchase a cane, please visit https://www.maxiaids.com/canes-for-the-blind-4.  Stay tuned for the last two Fridays in August to learn more about our logo and foundation!
